This mission was not supposed to take this long. A day, in and out on a derelict vessel with suspected ties to Cerberus: that was all it was supposed to be.
Instead it had been-- Kaidan had no idea how long it had been. His team was several flavors of banged up and hungry as hell, but they were alive. They'd had a few close calls, that was for sure. But he wasn't about to lose another soldier in battle if he could at all help it.
"Okay, I think we've almost got it," Kaidan said, taking in a deep breath of-- "How much air have we got left?"
"Three hours, give or take," Stanley said, gripping her gun like it was a lifeline. "But now that the central VI core is down, that's all we're going to need. Sir."
The niceties had been kind of an afterthought lately.
Kaidan nodded shallowly. "Stanley, take the right flank. Davinc, you're on me. Let's smoke out these Cerberus bastards once and for all, shall we?"
Yeah. It had definitely been a week.
